开设意义

随着中国将加入WTO组织,二十一世纪的英语普及运用,社会需要的不仅是一个具有一定英语知识的人才,更需要的是一个具有英语应用能力的人才。

 

目的要求

每课时给出一个话题和范例,并配以听力,对学生进行听说训练,旨在提高学生的听说能力和应用能力。

The first-second period

Teaching aims and demands:

1.       Improve the students’ speaking ability. .

2.       Improve the students’ listening ability.

Teaching focus and difficulties:

1.       How to greet and introduce.

2.       Grasp the correct way of listening.

Teaching procedure:

1.       Tell the students the ways of how to speak and listen well.

2.       Give the students two topics: “Greeting and introducing each other.”

“Daily activities”

3.       Practise in pairs.

4.       Ask some students to practise in the front.

5.       Give the students a piece of paper for them to listen.

Homework:  Prepare the topic :Ask for information.

 

The third-fourth period

Teaching aims and demands:

1.       Improve the students’ speaking ability. .

2.       Listen to Lesson 3-4.

Teaching focus and difficulties:

1.       How to appoint and ask for information.

2.       Grasp the correct way of listening.

Teaching procedure:

1.       Ask the students to say something about the daily life.

2.       Give the students two topics: “Asking for information”

“Time and appointment”

3.       Practise in pairs.

4.       Ask some students to practise in the front.

5.       Give the students a piece of paper for them to listen.

Homework:  Debate: Money is everything./ Money is not everything.

            How to make a telephone call.

 

The fifth-sixth period

Teaching aims and demands:

1.       Improve the students’ speaking ability. .

2.       Listen to Lesson 5-6

Teaching focus and difficulties:

1.       How to make a telephone call.

2.       Grasp the correct way of listening.

Teaching procedure:

1.       Ask the students to read what they have written..

2.       Give the students one topic: “Using the telephone”

3.       Practise in pairs.

4.       Ask some students to practise in the front.

5.       Give the students a piece of paper for them to listen.

Homework:  Debate: The procedure is more important./ The result is more important.

           Topic: Ask for and give directions.

The seventh-eighth period

Teaching aims and demands:

1.       Improve the students’ speaking ability. .

2.       Listen to Lesson 5-6

Teaching focus and difficulties:

1.       Discuss sth. About “weather”.

2.       Grasp the correct way of listening.

Teaching procedure:

1.       Ask the students to say the daily English.

2.       Give the students two topics: “Weather.”

“Asking for and Giving Directions”

3.       Practise in pairs.

4.       Ask some students to practise in the front.

5.       Give the students a piece of paper for them to listen.

Homework:  Write a short passage about the weather in Dongtai.

The ninth-tenth period

Teaching aims and demands:

3.       Improve the students’ speaking ability. .

4.       Listen to Lesson 7-8

Teaching focus and difficulties:

3.       How to make a telephone call.

4.       Grasp the correct way of listening.

Teaching procedure:

6.       Ask the students to read what they have written..

7.       Give the students one topic: “Using the telephone”

8.       Practise in pairs.

9.       Ask some students to practise in the front.

10.   Give the students a piece of paper for them to listen.

Homework:  Write a dialogue bout making a telephone call.
